Itinerary


On arrival in San José, Costa Rica, you will be welcomed at Juan Santamaría International Airport and transferred to your hotel in the city.

In the afternoon, you will enjoy a tour of the National Theatre, a masterpiece of art and architecture known as “The Jewel of San José,” completed in 1897 by Costa Rican builders. Then you will visit the Gold Museum (an archaeological site of interest) and the Central Market, a place full of Costa Rican culture, heritage, and traditions. You can browse and buy some local handicrafts. You will also visit the Metropolitan Cathedral.

As you travel through the San José, your guide will show you several historical and important buildings, for example, the University of Costa Rica, the old train station, the National Liquor Factory, the Supreme National Board of Elections, the Legislative Assembly (equivalent to Congress), the Metallic Building, more and some parks and other sites of interest. In addition, you will visit an art gallery for souvenir shopping. This introduction to the capital city will inform you about the economy, culture, politics, religion, and current affairs of Costa Rica.

In the morning, you will be transferred (shared transfer) to Punta Leona on the Central Pacific Coast. Along the way, you will see interesting vegetation and fauna, beautiful beaches, and fantastic views.

Punta Leona is home to one of the last remaining forests that are found in the transitional life zone between the tropical rainforests of the South Pacific and the dry tropical forests of the North Pacific. Punta Leona National Wildlife Refuge in Costa Rica consists of an area of 20 hectares of primary and secondary forest and is one of the most important reserves on Costa Rica’s central pacific both from a geographical and conservation point of view.

The resort town of Punta Leona also has two individual beaches with soft sand, crystal clear waters, and a lot of activities.

Punta Leona National Wildlife Refuge is a 300-hectare nature reserve created to protect the region’s varied flora and fauna which is the habitat of over 330 migratory and native bird species, including the spectacular Scarlet Macaw, toucans, quetzals, parrots, and hummingbirds. It is also home to various animals including White-faced Monkeys, White-nosed Coatimundis, racoons, iguanas and a variety of beautiful butterflies.

Unknown to most holidaymakers, Punta Leona town and beach aren’t yet explored by many tourists. Here you can relax on the beach and unwind with locals, so that you could get a genuine glimpse of Costa Rican life. more

Punta Leona has two individual beaches, Playa Blanca and Playa Mantas, and three walking and hiking trails, all of which are easily accessible and great for bird watching.

Playa Blanca and Playa Mantas within Punta Leona have soft sand and crystal clear waters, and are ideal for families as the water is calm and safe for children. Each beach also provides cafes, bars, and shops so that you could enjoy a snack or buy a local souvenir.

Surrounded by dense forest, Punta Leona hotel offers stunning views of Playa Blanca. But at low tide, you can walk between Playa Blanca and Playa Mantas.

Punta Leona is perfect for beach activities such as surfing and snorkelling. The waves in Playa Blanca are calm and controlled, making it an ideal surfing spot for newbies. You can also enjoy tropical snorkelling and explore the fish and seabed mysteries at the same time.

You can also opt for a kayaking tour, enjoy scuba diving, swimming, playing golf, beach volleyball.
