Itinerary
On arrival at Chisinau International Airport, you will enjoy the panoramic city tour of Chisinau that is the main administrative, scientific and cultural centre of Moldova. During the tour, you will discover pieces of history and culture of the city such as the Nativity of Christ Cathedral, the Bell Tower, the Arch of Triumph, the Monument of Stephen the Great, etc.
After the city tour, you will be transferred to your accommodation in Chisinau. In the evening, you will enjoy the dinner at the hotel.
In the morning, you will travel to Château Cojusna (Migdal-P) winery in Cojusna village. Here you will enjoy a tour through the complex, where you will discover the underground streets, the tasting rooms and climb to the roof of the château where you will see the panorama of Cojusna village and the vineyards of the winery. The wines produced in Cojusna can be tasted in two special rooms - one of them has an atmosphere of Medieval Moldovan cellar and it is trimmed with natural tree and stone, the other one has a European classic style.
The day will begin with the visit of Arta Rustica (Rustic Art) Handicraft Complex in Clisova Noua village. The handmade carpets in Clisova Noua are of amazing interest and beauty. The traditional Moldovan carpets have been included in UNESCO’s intangible cultural heritage. The creation of only one canvas takes several months. Every carpet is a work of art. The more craftsmen of Clisova Noua village put their whole soul and free time into their craft. They restore unique carpets according to old photographs. They uses only natural materials and authentic technique during the weaving process. At the museum, a brief tour of carpet collection, showcase of carpets, traditional costumes, and other handicrafts objects will be organized. Each carpet has its own history, a very interesting past, which will be revealed to you there. After the excursion, you will enjoy lunch at the complex.
You will continue your journey to Château Vartely winery - the first winery in Moldova that focused on Terroir, for white wines. Located only 45 kilometres from Chisinau, Château Vartely has a special architecture and offers a real landscape delight, being located on a hill from where a dizzying view opens. For those who love to take pictures, Chateau Vartely has created for the first time a fascinating projection of augmented reality that reproduces, through special effects, the history of the winery. The story is projected on a screen made of real barrels, the ones where the wine rests before being bottled, and then it expands and occupies the entire surface of the cellar with spectators.
You will have the opportunity to taste some of the wines, enjoy the dinner and spend the night at the winery.
In the morning, you will visit Et Cetera family winery and take part in the excursion and wine tasting carried out by the owner of the winery who will inform you about the methods of wine production and maturation. At Et Cetera winery, you will enjoy a lunch prepared from products of the region and Crocmaz village.
After lunch, the trip will continue to Château Purcari winery in Purcari village. If you are a wine enthusiast or just love to be in beautiful, pristine surroundings and listening the songs of birds, Purcari estate is definitely the place you need to visit. The old mansion’s galleries feature great collections of Purcari wines, some bottles dating back to 1948. The winery is famous all over the world due to the legendary wine “Negru de Purcari” - the elixir that in 1878 was highly appreciated on the international arena by being awarded the gold medal at Paris World Exhibition. more In the tasting room, decorated in royal style, you will have the opportunity to taste Purcari wines, including “Negru de Purcari”, which has been the choice of some of the world's most recognized dignitaries.
You will have dinner at the restaurant and spend the night at the winery. The restaurant of the winery serves Moldovan and international cuisine dishes.
In the morning, you will set off on a time travel in Transnistria. You will discover Kvint wine and brandy factory where harmony, refinement and tradition underlie the oldest and most genuine spirits. Here you will be acquainted with the taste of 10-30 years old spirits such as Surprise, Tiraspol, Kvint Solnechny, Victoria and Jubilee. The professional sommelier and specialist in quality of Kvint factory will lead the tasting process.
In the afternoon, you will have lunch at a restaurant in Tiraspol.
Next stop will be at Castel Mimi winery - a destination of interest, unique in Moldova located in Bulboaca village. Castel Mimi is currently listed among the most beautiful architectural masterpieces in the world of wine. The story of the castle begins at the end of 1893, when Constantin Mimi, the last governor of Bessarabia, plants the first grape vines on the place that would become more legend over the years. Here, you will taste Castel Mimi wines, including Rosu de Bulboaca wine, an incomparable wine with outstanding features and elegant flavor. Dinner will be served at Castel Mimi restaurant and will culminate with “baba neagra” - a local dessert garnished with vanilla.
You will spend the night at Castel Mimi winery and enjoy a full experience at the castle.
On departure day, you will be transferred from Castel Mimi winery to Chisinau International Airport.
